About PSEP

What is PSEP?

PSEP Philosophy: To design, evaluate, and disseminate impactful and interdisciplinary patient safety research to enhance patient care.
The Patient Safety Enhancement Program (PSEP) is a multi-disciplinary program jointly supported by the University of Michigan and VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System focused on improving patient safety. Our primary focus is on conducting and disseminating high-quality and impactful research that can be applied broadly. We have special expertise in healthcare-associated infection prevention, clinical problem-solving, communication and teamwork, leadership/followership, and implementation science. Our findings are being disseminated through peer-reviewed journals, books and book chapters, invited lectures, and articles appearing in Harvard Business Review, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and The Conversation.
