Italian Medical Resident Visits VA Ann Arbor and University of Michigan Healthcare Systems
Filippo Lagi, MD | University of Florence, Medical School | 05.01.2016
I visited the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System and the University of Michigan from the March 1, 2016 to April 30, 2016. During my two month visit, I had the opportunity to observe on site the patient care process in the Department of Medicine and Infectious Diseases. I found it extremely interesting to round with doctors and students. I had the chance to participate in highly professional debates concerning patient care and medical updates. I was also able to attend a large number of clinical cases through daily meetings and amazing lectures which were held by worldwide-known experts in their field.
Furthermore, I had a great experience from a personal point of view. I met not only outstanding doctors, but also terrific people who made me laugh, keeping my spirit up! The city of Ann Arbor has been very welcoming, friendly, and easy to live in.
In conclusion, I had a wonderful time at the University of Michigan, and I hope this will be the beginning of a beautiful work partnership, as well as of a long friendship.
